Best Double Camping Chairs and Camping Loveseats (2026)

How we picked

We looked for two-person chairs whose rating and warranty we could read on a maker or authorized-dealer page, and that we could find listed on Amazon. Four passed. They're ordered by our Built-to-Last Score, with one exception: the King Kong Loveseat scores highest but sits second, because ALPS no longer lists it and a pick you may not be able to buy new shouldn't lead the page. The score weighs rated capacity, frame and fabric, the written warranty and listed replacement parts before comfort and weight; the bands are on our scoring methodology page. For a double chair, the capacity band uses the maker's whole-chair rating where one is published, and the per-seat figure sits beside it in the spec. We haven't sat in any of these chairs; every figure links to its source.

A camping loveseat is a niche inside our camping chair hub, and the paperwork shows it. Makers publish less about their two-seaters than about their single chairs: none of the four here publishes a seat width, and two don't publish a seat height. The gaps are spelled out below, because they cost points in the score and they're worth knowing before you buy.

The four, side by side

Total rating vs per-seat rating: the number that matters for two

Two people rarely weigh the same, so a double chair's total rating tells you less than it seems. Only two makers here publish how the load splits. ALPS, via its dealer, rates the King Kong Loveseat to 800 lb total and 400 lb per side. GCI's spec block rates the Tandem Rocker to 250 lb per seat, while the comparison chart on the same page lists “Up to 400 lbs” for the chair. Those two figures don't reconcile (two seats at 250 lb would be 500), so we scored the 400 lb chart figure and flag the conflict. Kelty (600 lb) and Kijaro (500 lb) publish a total only.

The King Kong Loveseat: best on paper, with an availability caveat

It leads on the two things that decide a buy-once purchase, the rating and the warranty. ALPS dealer Fin Feather Fur lists the King Kong Loveseat at 800 lb (400 lb per side) on a powder-coated steel frame with 600D polyester, the heaviest fabric band we score. Each adjustable armrest has a cup holder and a side pocket, and it comes with a shoulder carry bag. ALPS warrants “all of our products” against defects for the life of the product and lists no exception for chairs or loveseats. The warranty requires proof of purchase from an ALPS authorized dealer.

Now the caveat. ALPS's own product page for it returned a 404 on 2026-09-22, it isn't in ALPS's current chair list, and the dealer listing shows it out of stock. An Amazon listing was up when we checked the same day. ALPS's warranty lets it replace, substitute or credit a defective product, so a claim on a model it no longer makes may be settled with a different chair. Before you buy, make sure the listing is the King Kong Loveseat itself.

The score also reflects what isn't published. No page we could fetch lists its weight, seat height or seat width, so it takes the not-published bands for fit (4) and portability (3), and ALPS lists no replacement parts for it online. Skip it if you want full dimensions and a weight before you buy.

The Kelty Low Loveseat: the best-documented pick

If the King Kong Loveseat's missing paperwork bothers you, the Kelty is close to the opposite: every number that matters except seat width is on Kelty's page. Kelty rates it to 600 lb on a powder-coated steel frame with quilted, padded 600D polyester. It weighs 15.38 lb, packs to 34.5 x 11 x 11 inches, and adds two insulated beverage holders, adjustable arm rests and a carry wrap that doubles as a padded dog mat. An Amazon listing for some colors says 500 lb; Kelty's own page says 600, and we go with the maker.

Two things hold it back. Kelty covers furniture for one year, against lifetime on its tents and packs, and lists no loveseat parts, though it repairs out-of-warranty damage for a reasonable rate. And it sits low by design: the 13.5-inch seat is the lowest any maker publishes among the chairs we score. That suits a concert lawn or a campfire. It doesn't suit anyone who struggles to stand from a low seat; our high-seat camping chair picks are the better place to look.

The GCI Tandem Rocker and the Kijaro Duo

GCI Outdoor Tandem Rocker (#3). The only double chair here that rocks: GCI's spring-action rocking on both seats, and GCI says the frame folds up to convert into a single-seat rocker when you're alone. GCI's chart lists a 19.3-inch seat, the highest published among these four, and padded solid armrests. It weighs 21.2 lb, the heaviest published weight on this page, and folds to 9.8 x 25.2 x 35 inches. GCI covers chairs for 3 years but says sun damage and extended exposure to the elements void the warranty. One line in GCI's warranty use guidelines reads oddly next to a two-seat chair: “Products are for personal, single-user, recreational use within posted weight limits.” It's generic boilerplate, but if warranty coverage for two sitters matters to you, ask GCI before you buy. Kijaro Duo Chair (#4). The lightest double here at 12.4 lb, rated to 500 lb by Kijaro, 53 inches long and 37 inches tall, with two oversized cup holders and a zippered carry bag. It's also the least documented: Kijaro's page doesn't publish the frame material, the fabric, the seat width or the seat height. The warranty is one year, and Kijaro discusses repair options and charges after that. Skip it if you want published frame and fabric specs.

A loveseat or two chairs?

Weight doesn't settle it on its own. The Kijaro Duo (12.4 lb) is lighter than two Coleman Cooler Quad chairs at 8.2 lb each (16.4 lb). The Kelty Low Loveseat (15.38 lb) is far heavier than two Helinox Chair Ones at 1 lb 15 oz each (3 lb 14 oz). Two ALPS King Kong single chairs weigh 26 lb together, and ALPS doesn't publish the loveseat's weight to compare.

On durability, two chairs give you two ratings, two warranties and a spare seat if one fails. A loveseat puts both of you on one frame, so a failure takes out both seats. What a loveseat gives you is the thing you're buying it for: sitting together. What didn't make the list

• Kelty Loveseat (standard). Kelty rates it to 600 lb, with 600D polyester and a 19-inch seat, higher than the Low Loveseat's. Kelty's page doesn't publish its weight, so we haven't scored it.
• Kelty Lowdown Couch. A three-person chair, per Kelty, rated to 900 lb and weighing 20.94 lb, with a 12.5-inch seat. It's outside this page's two-person brief.
• Coleman's double quad chair. Coleman's site blocked every attempt to read the maker spec page, and we don't rank a chair on a rating we can't read at the source.
• Timber Ridge double chairs. We found no maker spec page for them.

How to choose a double camping chair

Find the per-seat number, or ask for it

A total rating is only half the answer for two people. ALPS's dealer lists 400 lb per side for the King Kong Loveseat, and GCI publishes 250 lb per seat for the Tandem. Kelty and Kijaro publish totals only. If your weights are uneven, get the per-side figure before you buy.

Measure the trunk

Double chairs are big packages. Kelty publishes 34.5 x 11 x 11 inches packed; GCI's Tandem folds flat to 9.8 x 25.2 x 35 inches and weighs 21.2 lb. Kijaro publishes the Duo's weight (12.4 lb) but no packed size, and no page we found publishes either for the King Kong Loveseat.

Check how high you sit

Loveseats tend to sit low. Kelty publishes 13.5 inches for the Low Loveseat, GCI 19.3 inches for the Tandem, and ALPS and Kijaro publish nothing. If either of you has stiff knees or hips, the seat height matters more than the cup holders.

Read the warranty for two

ALPS's lifetime warranty needs an authorized-dealer receipt. GCI's 3-year term comes with its single-user guideline. Kelty and Kijaro give one year. Our camping chair warranty guide quotes each brand's terms side by side.

Store it dry

GCI tells owners to store its chairs indoors and says sun damage voids the warranty, and ALPS and Kijaro both exclude UV damage from theirs. A double chair has twice the fabric to fade, so bring it in between trips.
