Best Camping Cots Under $100 (2026)

The short version

The honest headline for this bracket: capacity is cheap and repairability is not. A 500 lb rating and a 33-inch-wide deck are available under $100. A maker who sells you a replacement deck is not, at any price under about $130 — and the deck is the part that fails on a cot.

The cots in the bracket

These are the cots in our registry built and priced for this end of the market. The REDCAMP is the one whose price we verified inside the cap; the three Coleman cots are the mainstream sub-$100 options, and Coleman's own site refused our request on 2026-09-29, so check each price before you buy rather than taking ours.

The prices we could actually read

• REDCAMP Oversized (the 500 lb model we score) — $99.99 on REDCAMP's own shop, with the narrower Larger and Extra Wide sizes at $66.99 to $75.99.
• TETON Outfitter L — $99.99 and sold out. TETON's smallest Outfitter cot (200 lb, 71 x 22 in) sits exactly on the cap and was unavailable when we looked, which is the most useful single fact on this page: the in-bracket version of a lifetime-warranty cot exists and is hard to buy.
• TETON Outfitter XL — $129.99; Outfitter XXL — $199.99. The step up. For that you get a lifetime warranty, 400 to 600 lb, and a cot top, end bars, rails, legs and feet all sold separately.
• Coleman cots — around $55 at a major retailer for an older, narrower Trailhead SKU (76 x 25 in) than the Trailhead II we score, which tells you where Coleman's cot pricing sits without being a price for our pick.

What $100 buys

• A real capacity. 300 lb from Coleman, 500 lb from REDCAMP. Both are published figures, which already puts this bracket ahead of budget camp chairs.
• Enough width to sleep on. 30 to 35 inches across all four, which is wider than the packable cots costing three times as much.
• Height off the ground. 15 to 20.5 inches, so you can sit on the edge and stand up easily — the thing low-profile cots give away, as our low-profile rankings explain.
• Sometimes a pad. The Coleman ComfortSmart Deluxe includes a foam mattress pad, which is a genuine saving of $60 to $100 against buying one — see cots with a mattress.

What $100 doesn't buy

A replacement deck. Coleman's Consumer Care answers state its cot canvas is not sold separately, and REDCAMP lists no parts. TETON, Disc-O-Bed and ALPS all sell deck fabric — and all three start above this bracket. Our cot replacement parts guide is the full list.

A warranty worth relying on. One year from Coleman; REDCAMP publishes none at all, only a refund policy. Above the bracket you are into 5-year (Disc-O-Bed) and lifetime (TETON, ALPS) terms.

A published fabric. Coleman publishes no denier for any cot. REDCAMP publishes 600D. Disc-O-Bed publishes 1200D. Denier is the number that predicts how long a deck lasts under a hip.

Light weight. These are 20 to 25 lb steel cots. The 5 lb ALPS Ready Lite and the packable Helinox cots are all well above $100.

Five checks before you buy a budget cot

1. Find the rated capacity on the maker's page and leave headroom: you load a cot hardest sitting on its edge, not lying on it. Our cot weight capacity guide explains why.
2. Check the length against your height. Coleman rates the Trailhead II for campers up to 6 ft 2 in; taller sleepers should read our cots for tall people.
3. Ask whether the deck is a part. If it is not, the cot is disposable — factor that into the price.
4. Budget for a pad. A cot without insulation underneath is colder than the ground. Cot pads start well under $100 in our cot pad rankings.
